Vow of Celibacy.... What was I thinking?!?!

So after one crazy spring break down in San Diego, me and a buddy have decided to enter into a bet to see who can make it 40 days without any sort of action. No kissing, spooning, forking, alone time, etc.... We also have to maintain our lifestyle which includes parties, bars, dating, and all that shit.

The bet started at 12am this morning and I am already starting to think that the $150 isn't worth it.

I will probably post up here randomly to update you guys when I get bored doing my online class so that I don't venture onto the more tempting parts of the internet.

Have any of you DSMers ever done something like this before?

Thats the thing, it doesn't matter if you don't get girls or not because the bet includes no "alone time."

Either way its going to be tough as I just found out I have some lady friends whom are looking to make me not finish out 40 days.

I guess that means game on!

Well, we will be going by the honor code as far as enforcement. I trust that both parties will admit if they lost. The main point isn't about the money, it's about me proving that I have control.

As for an update; this vow seems to upset my close lady friends alot. What were once sister-like female friends are now like ravenous sexbound hounds out to destroy my vow.

Last night I went out to a popular Irish themed pub for St. Patricks day with a couple of close lady friends. It is actually an interesting time going out clubbing with no motivation to get action. However, I did meet one girl and spoke with her for about 45 minutes when all of the sudden on of my friends came over and decided to make this girl aware of my vow. Shortly afterwards the girl took off.

Later that night after some mean karaoke; we went up to the dance floor and that is when I came to the realization of what these friends of mine were trying to do. It was a fun night denying them and watching the utter frustration that stemmed from my separation from natural instincts.

And just about an hour ago I lined up a date for this weekend and we are going to go to dinner then watch a movie at her place. But no worries here because I am officially in Ghandi mode and can't be broken!

If you can't last 40 days I would say you are week. I have gone 2 months already with a small break in the middle from my wife. I will return in another month. And then I will be gone for 5 months and then another 5-6 month stretch.

you will find that the ladies who know about this bet, will be all over you. Then the ones that dont know but you take out on dates. Will for some reason absolutely want you, because you dont take any steps toward that direction. I found this out doing the same thing.

Best of luck... on the volcano effect! Spend time with your car or another worthwhile hobby...or if you have a gf, show her how you care through you creativity (poetry, etc.) I commend you for doing this, as I know I'm waaay too weak to approach that kind of self-imposed celibacy.

I wouldn't say it is self imposed as much as I was told that me and a buddy couldn't do it. Being super competitive, I had to take the challenge.

Well, as of right now I sit on day 9. That is almost 1/4 of the way through. All I can say is that I better be getting into great shape from all of these damn midnight jogs that I have to keep taking.

I had a date last weekend and the woman tried to kiss me. It took all i had to move out of the way and tell her that I had to leave. Now that is one way to drive a girl nuts!

The surprising thing to me is that girls that didn't seem that interested before are now really interested in being my day 40 date.
