What have I gotten myself into?

Well, it looks like I'm building a new engine... Should be a little different than most that are running around.

Also I sold the T58, my smim, and injectors... On we go.

Basic rundown on the new engine being built, it's a 2.3 six bolt stroker:

100mm eagle crank
Groden aluminum rods
Wiesco 1400HD/SOB Ross pistons/Custom HD manleys (haven't bought or made a final decision on which pistons yet, both are supposed to be pretty schweet)
SCE Titan ICS headgasket
ARP L19 headstuds
ARP main studs
Kelford 280's or MAYBE GSC S3's
Kiggly Beehive springs/retainers
Kiggly main girdle
Ferrea Ultra Comp valves (std. size)
Fidanza cam gears
Gates Racing kevlar timing belt

There of course is a ton of parts I didn't update with but I put the big stuff there.

Also, I picked up a few new parts... JMFab Drag SMIM, ID-2200 injectors, a garrett GT4294, NX direct port setup, and a nice new AEM EMS to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Sounds good but it's not that different from your run of the mill Aluminum rod build. All the other stuff aside I have just about the same internals you have listed just I"m running R&R not groden. By the way ARP doesn't make L19 mains just rods and head studs. You wouldn't need them anyway even the stockers are good so regular ARPs are def good enough.

I'm sorry, I copied that from a local forum and just pasted all the pictures onto the new thread... I think a couple of things came out jumbled up .

The local DSM's have neither 2.3's nor alum rod builds, let alone combined, hence the whole different than most part.

Ahhh I did not catch the stroker part. That is a little different. Be prepared to grind the block for clearance but it's not that bad. SHould be very interesting.

Actually don't like the Grodens. I got a set from Euroexport and their really legit. We had some issues with the grodens. If you look at where the bolt comes through on the grodens, it goes past the threads and we had issues with it messing up there. The Euroexport have about 4 threads more so you can torque them down better and they won't back out or any of that BS. Just my 2 cents.

The bolts on my Grodens do not extend past the threads... Perhaps you had a set made a while back? With the rod bolts tight, there are three threads left.

Like I said, I didn't have that problem with my rods... I don't know what the deal was at the time, but I'm sure they would have fixed the problem for you/in the design if you let them know.

hell yeah finnaly some one uses those grodens! i would use those on my daily driver if i had the money. dont belive all those people who hate on aluminum rods.

No you wouldn't use them on a dd. You shouldn't use aluminum rods for really anything other them a track car.

Nice build! A note about the aluminum rods: I believe twicks69 on this forum ran the aluminum in his 700awhp dd for quite some time. There are more and more dds popping up with these rods all the time. I am using them in my 2.4l long rod build but they are from magnus.
