I was gonna do this but the paint for my car is real expensive. I have that green metallic sparkely type ####. I think I was told like $45 a pint. Is that color fairly rare or what?

I was wondering the same thing, only idea I got is to check in with the local police station and either ask them or ask for a book with all the laws and regulations of your area in it. I think it would look good when the car was off. Jake

I'd keep the little bar thingy at the bottom because it matches the little bar thingies at the bottom of the outer lights.

I dont see anything illegal about it except that you would no longer have reflectors on the back of your car..
Tint em, if you get a ticket, jsut pull em off the car and use Carb-cleaner to take all the paint off. Works like a charm and wont damage the plastic.

Just spoke to a local cop and here's what he says:

"You need a red light to the rear for brakes, and red reflectors to the rear as well, so if the covers would prevent the light or the reflectors from being visible then yes, they would be illegal."

Damn.

im gonna paint mine myself. im bidding on a clear one on ebay and paint that one. so if i f*ck it up or dont like it, it doesnt really matter. i have the stock one on there. it doesnt look half bad but i think if it was green it would look alot better.

here in PA, you need red brake lights and the side reflector... i blacked mine out using niteshades, you will need 2 cans tho if you plan on doing it. (1 can will only turn it deep red)
