If you remove the back panel in the hatch, i think there is 4 or 5 10mm bolts that you remove, then the center will come right out

Had the body shop do it while they were working on the rest of the car. Mine is the "Altezza" center section. There are arc shape ripples in it from when the section was molded.

Actually there's either 5 or 7 bolts in the back. Make sure you get the one right in the middle where the trunk opener is otherwise it won't come out

I painted mine after I filled the key hole in.

All I did was removed the center piece, peeled of the stickers, and brought it into the body shop. They charged me 50 bucks to paint it.

Has anyone had any problem with pealing? When I took it to the body shop today the guy looked at it and said he couldn't guarantee that it wouldn't peal. I told him it should be okay because I know other people that have it done. He's sanding it and painting it.

thank you very much airpopoff, for if it wasnt for u ida never done that middle peice. I went to the sign place in town, payed 3 bucks for a big rectangle of sticky black vinyl, went home, took out that center peice, peeled the letters, cleaned it, and stuck the vinyl on. (vinyl was a biznitch to get no bubbles, although there are still those TINY ones that u can barely see unless u look for em) and i was actually considereing taking it to my local body shop and getting it painted! pish posh, this looks just as good if not better! thanks again!!!!!

mine is painted. its not hard to do. i just pulled mine out, cleaned it up, sprayed it, and put it back in. if you can paint good, there is really no need to pay 50 bucks and have somebody else do it imo

The trick with the vinyl to get the air bubbles out is to use a spray bottle filled with water and 2-3 drops of dishwashing soap. Spray the piece with the water/soap first then apply the vinyl. you will now be able to move it around and work out the bubbles. A credit card or ID works good to get the bubbles out.

My Bud owns a Sign shop that does Vinyl work all the time.

Mine was masked, the top is still black and the "lens part" is the part painted.

when i went to my local body shop..they gave me an estimate of $146...which is mostly labor and in my opinion is a total rip off...How hard is it to sand and prime the center piece or does it just come off?
