not late 90s but here is mine I USED VHT NIGHT SHADES FOR THE CENTER NOT SPRAY PAINT!!

Why are you posting this? It has nothing to do with the thread. He isn't talking about aftermarket cheap ugly pos tail lights like what you have on your car, he's talking about a rare, OEM Clear Replacement tail light that came avail. for only 2g eclipse's way back in the day. Pretty much the first aftermarket tail light offered for DSM's. Not Altezza's.

My GS has had them in since 2003. I even kept a backup set that were literally NEW until recently when another member contacted me about buying them.

...and mine DEFINITELY have D.O.T. molded into the plastic on the lens. I'm not sure if yours have this marking or not, but they are literally a clear version of the OEM taillights.

Dude you rock! I loved the ones with the ECLIPSE badge on them. I shouldn't have ditched mine, they prob were destroyed. Even tho I no longer own a 2g.

BTW they are DOT Approved but only for "off road" use. See the problem that DOT had with them being completely DOT Approved was they were completely clear. And by law in the US we have to have RED Reflectors in the rear. Stupid but thats what I read on why they were not completely approved.

You're not going to find them unless you're lucky enough to find a nice used set. They were discontinued 10 years ago.

I've owned three sets- all were bought used in good condition in the $150-$200 range.

Just an FYI but blue lights are illegal in tail lights.

Ive got a set, took me about 4 months to find a set. When you find them, you better jump on them. Most people who have them wont let them go because of how scarce they are.

Dude you rock! I loved the ones with the ECLIPSE badge on them.

Anything can have the ECLIPSE badge if you're willing to spend the money to make it happen. MachV has the decals, but they're around $50.

My GSX came with the center panel painted Monarch Green to match the car, and it now has the ECLIPSE lettering on it as well. Looks sharp....very "OEM-like".

Please don't put blue reverse lights in.

1. They're illegal.
2. They don't help visibility while backing up.
3. They really won't look as cool as you think.

Oh yes, It's pretty illegal. They make a big deal about red tinted headlights. Imagine how bad thay'd spaz about blue taillights. Blue taillights would confuse so many people.

I got my clear complete set a time ago now and they have the dot molded in. Also if any body is looking search Albany NY Craigslist there are just the two outside pieces for $80 . Though I don't know if the person would ship or not

Checking in with clear tails. I love these things. People are always asking where to get them. It's great to have a rare part on your car that very few others have. I still have yet to see another Dsm in my area with these tail lights.
