Is this a 1g or a 2g? What color is the car? Any other appearance mods? How about a picture of the car? I'm not the biggest fan of smoked lights though, unless the car is black.

nahh. I wouldn't smoke the tail lights. I agree, I like it on black cars, but not on a red 2g.
Keep it stock , higher resale value too. I hate going on Craigslist, finding a Gst, and then when I open the page, there's shiny lights and 100lbs of bondo on it...

I agree with knochgoon24 and mindset. Maybe if you had some black accents on your car already, but on a red 2g, I would not smoke the tail lights.

Yeah, you definitely want to do very tasteful appearance mods that you won't regret later. You can get a little fancier once the rest of the car starts to come together. But smoked tails on a bone stock 2g? Nah.

I wouldn't do it. You can always photoshop it to see if you like it first. Also, fill out your vehicle profile.

Youre gonna get pulled over if you tint them. Even if the lights shine through, there has to be so many square inches of reflective surface on the tail lights.

If you do this anyway, 4 coats is a little hefty. I tinted my corner lights by just lightly dusting them with black and then giving them a couple coats of clear.

Definately. I would only caution you to use good taste on how dark to go.

Yeah it would look sick,at least I think it would.I did it to my black gst I used vht niteshades or something.I think like 3 coats they arent pitch black or anything but look good.That stuff can be tricky to use though cause it's so thin and runny,so if you decide to do it be carfull to use really thin coats.

Today I smoked my tail lights and reverse lights. They look dark during the day, and would never know they were tinted at night. Let me know what you think.

I was thinking about debadgeing it but after I did it, it looked pretty cool because now it has more like a gun metal look. But yours looks tight InfiniteGSX. I bout that nightshade stuff off of summitracing for cheap and did my tails and reverse lights within like 10 or 15 minutes.

Yeh you can just order the rattle cans off of summitracing.com for like $12 a can. They shipped mine within a day. I suggest getting 2 cans because one of the cans I got messed up, and if I didnt have another can I would've been SOL. Smoking the tails is better than those ### Altezza lights that some people put on.

How did you do that? Did you leave the "ECLIPSE" lettering on there when you painted it and then pulled em off?

Yeah. I also sanded down the backside of the lens and installed LED Lights so the ECLIPSE lit up... You couldn't do that now cause you've vht'd the lens. But with it VHT'd, if you pulled the letters, they would look nice and red over the black... its just cool I think.
