Buy any pair of regular chrome altezzas, and grab yourself Testor's Transparent Candy Apple Enamel spray, or transparent black. Make your own pair. I have had red on my altezzas for over a year with Testor's...no fading or wear, and no need for clear coating. Subtle sub-stock look. You can make yourself a pair too, don't get overcharged on E-Bay. Light intensity is not impacted by the spray.

These are the completely cleared out tails that dont have any red circles in them right? As far as I have heard, they arent made anymore, which would probably explain why theyre selling for a little more over on ebay.

yeah...those are the ones I am talking bout...not colored at all...just totally clear the only color coming from the bulbs. I too think that they are no longer manufactured. Just wondering why? They look great.

You simply spray on the outside of the lens. No opening, cutting or prepping. Just clean the lights real good, find a good stand, and do about 4 solid coats. You must know how to properly spray, otherwise dribbles and bubbles from a botched job won't look good. I sold 2 pairs on e-bay, the buyers loved them.

Cops here in CA are attracted to smoked tail lights like Homer is to donuts. But they look good on your car. I like the black painted lower part of you bumper, gives it that lip effect, very nice

I know in my area the cops are so hard on taillights/aftermarket foglights, headlights...etc..
I got pulled over for my PIAA (hyper white) and he told me that he thought they "had a blue tint" and that they were illegal.
Same thing with the taillights...it HAS to have red or amber bulbs at least.

Maybe its a Penna county thing then. I could name at least 4 townships that all have problems with modded cars on the road. But surprisingly the State Troopers aren't that bad.
Is it just me or is it kind of difficult to get a can of Dupli-Color that will specifically smoke things out? I can't find them anywhere....Pep Boys, Auto Zone...

Like I said, I've had mine on for over a year, through pouring rain, and the CA sun. Not a scratch, no signs of fading. Give it a try.

Same here. The shine is awesome... Too bad spraypaint can't be as glossy, or as easily worked with.

I used to have the smoky clear tails on my eclipse. The problem with them is that you need to find bulbs that are made of red blown glass, not painted. Because once the paint wears off of the bulb, there is no red tint to your tails, at all. Maybe this is part of why they are not produced anymore

I am doing mine with Ebay LED bulbs.they are really bright and bought the White LED cuz the are brighter then red,and the stock tails make the red pop out so yeah thats the best bet with all that -Andy

I have searched the forum..and the gallery and still cannot find any pictures of a 1ga preferably talon with the center tail light painted the factory color. The only pic i have found is the blue laser on the home page. I am in the process of painting mine, and want to see some others to see if i do any other changes before i clear everything.

That blue Laser is actually normal. The 1Gb Lasers had middle sections painted to match straight from the dealer.

Hey, a local DSM buddy of mine made these tails for me. Pic isnt that great cause its getting dark out and i need to wash/wax. Let me know what you think. I like them.
