ok Ive tested everything and everything is good. no vacuum leaks. nothign. and i found my TPS was bad and today bought a new 1 for 177. yeah rip off. but anyways it still has that crazy RPM problem... im so frustrated. even a mechanic came out to work on it today and he couldnt find anything wrong with the car at all. he said the only way he thinks its getting fixed is if i go to Mitsu and have them fix it...
and i dont have the money for that

the intake has a new gasket. havnt checked the EGR yet. thanks im gonna look at that 2 doller ecu thing.

hmmm, check the EGR, and try to put together the ECU diagnostic tool and let us know how that goes. Keep us updated.

Lol I could have overnighted you a TPS for $45 shipped..

Wish my problems were that simple. Like everyone else said, boost leak test. Also kinda skimmed through but you definitely need a MAF...

o yeah i found my MAF. cant believe i thought i didnt have 1. but i do have 1 and that sucks i wish i woulda checked here first for a TPS. but anyways i put together the tool and its a pain with my roll bars for me to get in a position to stick the wires in the ECU. i found the right plug and all but i cant find a way to get them in right and me also fit in there right. any acrobatic ideas LOLOL

hahahahhaa, just keep trying my friend:p

well yeah after kept trying i got it hooked up and my light wouldnt blink. im not sure if maybe its a bad light or if somthing else but that was disappointing

damn that sucks. Let us know if you get it working. Are you sure you put it together right?

well since there wasnt a drawing of it i couldnt tell. but based off the words im sure i did. and my car dont idle high. it either dont idle or it will when i keep my foot on throttle just enough to prevent stall. but when car is hot its alot better. not much complaints. its when the car is cold that itll spike high when i touch the throttle. (all this im learning day by day. this car changes so much its making my head spin)

Although maybe it sounds crazy, have you checked your water temperature sensor and the wiring???

From my understanding when the sensors go bad you can have fuel problems as when the car is cooler it will send less fuel. I had a 1st gen AWD Talon, and my wiring was bad for my temp sensor. The car would take years to start, the sensors were readying on a cold start -100+ degrees, so it would barely send any fuel out. Just an advise.

actually i do think my water temp sensor is bad. because when i drive my temp gauge in the car never moves off of below c LOL. as if the car never turned on. but i didnt know that could have this affect. hmmm thanks for the suggestion mate. ill see about how to test this and see what i can come up with

well i tested the wire going into the water temp sensor and i got nothing. so im guessing the wiring going into it is bad or maybe shorted out. the sensor itself however i think is fine but i havnt tested that yet because im sure its just the wire thats bad somehow.

What I did to fix mine was that I went to a junyard and cut the sensor with enough wiring and then cut mine. I bought nice little connectors some electrical tape and wired it up nice and neat. The car ran perfect after that. If can solder it I guess it will be even better. Try that and let me know.

If your temp gauge does not move most likely that could be the problem, if not definetely is not normal anyways.

Get a buzzer dude! Or a logger. Your car is still trying to tell you what is wrong. You can guess, you can check every sensor on the car. You can trace every wire on the car, and you may or may not find even then. Your computer knows. Ask it!
