Well i just got stoped by a cop and made me pop my hood saw my breather filter on my valve cover and gave me a ticket. So when i go and do their car check for the ticket i'm gonna just put on a stock line....but after that i was thinking of keeping the line but just putting on a fuel filter in the middle of it, if I get stopped they will see a line and not care (I HOPE) and the fuel filter should keep the sludge and large junk I don't want from goin to the turbo(Well intake that goes to the turbo). Does this make sence to anyone aside from me, is this a good/bad or otherwise idea? :dsm:

You got a ticket because "gases" from the engine are being vented outside and you are in California (no one would care in Florida). Put the fuel filter and hook the hose back to the intake, that way you are still legal and the fuel filter will collect all the oil from your engine and the breather filter won't make a mess in your engine bay. There are a lot of people who have done this and it's cheaper than paying $50 - $100 for a catch can.

What was the reason for pulling you over? I just got my car inpected and they didn't even pop my hood to get a tach signal for the tailpipe test (had an external RPM sensor) :D

A crankcase can produce alot of oily vapor (especially when pulling a vaccume from the intake) , more than what a non-servicable fuel filter can contain.

Can make your own low-$ catchcan out of a small section of PVC pipe stuffed with an SOS nylon scouring pas (non-soap type), a couple brass hose barbs and end caps. Line to crank vent should be middle of pipe and line to intake at top :dsm:

I've had a cheap fuel filter spliced in line with the valve cover vent tube for a couple years. It works great. It passed smog twice here in Cali. Smog check guys know what it is, but a pissed-off cop might still find a reason to give you a ticket anyway.

don't they all?

he pulled me because my exhuast....and then i got raped
