upgrading from FP T28?

The thing a T28 or FP Big28 has going for it is quick spool and HARD hitting torque. But the problem is the way FP sells them without the higher pressure actuator, the performance SUCKS.
The boost drops off, the turbo doesn't "hit" hard, and the top end sucks. This is why guys who buy the Big T28 think its a pile and want to replace it as soon as possible. A simple $99 wastegate actuator
completely transforms the T28 into a hard hitting turbo. I get full boost at about 3400 rpm in 3rd gear if I go WOT at say 2800 rpm. But the torque doesn't slam you into the seat until 3700 rpm. My big FMIC
is costing me about 400 rpm worth of spoolup.

Below is my T28 setup pretty much maxxed out at ~400 h.p. (DSMlink estimated), though I thought I was maxxed out at 350 h.p. before. The main problem is holding boost and to run this kind of power you need 23-25 psi near your power peak to do it. I made this run on a mix of 93 octane, Xylene paint thinner (Sherwin Williams), and 2 bottles of Lucas octane booster (MMT). I also ran up to 22-23* ignition timing at WOT and .86 volts 02, which is somewhat lean. Biggest power difference was removing the 2g MAF and running HKS VPC speed density system, though a MAFT would probably work too.

I made this run on the expressway in 3rd & 4th gear. You know your car is making power when you can squat the rear end down hard at +100 mph in 4th gear. I personally will probably buy an EVOIII 16g next. By my calculations it will get me 450-460 h.p. on racing gas, spool close to a T28 and at $599 it fits my budget nicely.

Most guys normally aren't as patient as I am, I've been running the FP T28 for about 7 years.

I guess I just need to get a hp actuator from fp then. I also have a big front mount. the core being 10.5 tall, 30 wide and 3 inch thick.

I never scene a T28 with a EX waste gate, if a simple act is the problem imagine going with a nice tial would do...
