So, here’s where I’m at. Chasing out an exhaust leak at the manifold and found that the O2 housing gasket was blown out. Got a good housing, pulled the cracked one off. Only problem is that in talking the bolts out, the threads on the exhaust side of the turbo came out too. Yes, I sprayed them for a week before I even attempted. It was the will of the Mitsubishi gods. From what I was able to research on the site, I believe I have a 14b. Casting number on the back of the housing is 78-11830. I can have a machine shop fix the threads, hopefully. My questions are, does anyone know of a place that can rebuild the turbo? Are parts available? There’s a good amount of movement in the shaft. The vanes look okay. I’ve only removed the exhaust side so far. Thought I’d reach out to the guys with 30 years into these cars because I’m bored with seeing 16G upgrade kits in every search. I don’t want to upgrade and then have to follow with all the ancillary upgrades that come next. Happy with stock. Since I'm relatively new to the turbo arena, is it the shaft that wears or the bearings? Thanks in advance.
