So It's been a few weeks I've been pretty busy haven't had time to install my evo 3 16g. I bought it from a vendor on here as used but the guy said it had recently been rebuilt. There is no side to side shaft play, and if I try to pull on the compressor wheel with my fingers it barely moves. However when I push on the other side of the shaft where the turbo housing is it moves in and out quite a bit. Is this normal? or has this thing not been rebuilt ?

No thats not normal.. A fresh rebuild, there should be none in and out or side to side..Pm me the vendor..Dont make it public.

Also having oil in the chra does help, but on a fresh rebuild, there should be no play.

This is why we have a vendor review section...If your not sure on a vendor or members selling buying what not, you should check the reviews.

Ed.I didn't wiggle it that much damm..But I did pre oil it before instalation.

Before you prelube a turbo, it should have minor side to side, but after oil runs through it, it "fills" the void and the shaft tightens up. Sometimes there is still some side to side, other times it is tight. As long as it spins freely, it's fine. I would just check it after a couple hundred miles or so.
