Hey guys. Still working on my DSM 2g. I want to upgrade the turbo, not looking for a crazy fast car but I do want a turbo that will spool up fast(more looking for faster take off than top speed). Which turbo would you suggest? I've read alot about the 14b and 16G's but not much on the T3/T4's. Any input or suggestions??

Thanks alot
Tim

Can't go wrong with a 16g if you can find one. Personally I went with 14b because I couldn't find a 16g, but I love the spool up and it pulls hard. If you don't want top end and just want low end pull, stick with a smaller turbo.

I would go with the 14b if your not looking to spend as much(it spools fairly quick) The next grade is the small 16g. However if you do have a little money to blow. Go with the Big Evo III 16g. I've heard mixed reactions about the T3/T4 hybrids and about the value cost.

Talk to DSMxJB, He just turned down a small 16g in good shape for a damn good price, maybe he could hook up a fellow dsm'r with the sale.

+1 on the 16g or t28, can't go wrong with either for the prices and how much power they'll build, also 16g with the double fins it will spool faster then the 14b

Great. looking into these now.

As always you guys are great

Are both of these bolt in ????

Yes all of them are, for the 14b/16g and some the hybrids you will need a j-pipe(In order to connect to your intercooler) And a different oil drain line(because the stock oil drain pipe for the 97-99 will only fit a t25 or t28 turbo . But should all fit into place regardless.

I got my car with a tiny 13g. It spools like a mad man. Just doesn't make a lot of top end power.

Another option would be to get a 14b and get it clipped 10 deegres and port the compressor side to help with some top end flow. I had the same set up on my 1g and it had a ton of low end.

Clipping a mere 10 degrees does hardly anything to alter turbine flow, and additional turbine flow on a 14B would be a complete waste of resources when the unclipped TD05H turbine has proven to flow 42+ lb/min on various 16G, 18G, and 20G setups.
