well thank you all guys for the help i really appreciate it. I welded the vacuum nipple on and connected the waste gate vacuum to it and it worked great now im at a steady 8psi until i hit 6,000rpm's and then it slowly creeps to 12psi by 7,000rpm's :thumb:

i use 93 pump and Octane booster ,I feel a difference.but my brother tells me its psychological LOL!

Okay well I have a pretty much bone stock car, and I got the idea of disconnecting the stock downpipe from the catback because I noticed the stock catback has a decent amount of bends in it and I was thinking maybe this would give me a couple horsepower. The only reason I am kind of hesitant is because I'm not sure if this will give me boost creep or not since it's disconnected at the downpipe.

I do plan on getting an exhaust in the near future when I have money, this is only something temporary

Me and my friend did this same thing to his WRX yesterday, It's not difficult... I know I'm not a mechanic or anything, but I'm pretty sure I can handle taking two bolts off. And I didn't disconnect them yet, that's why I asked this question...

Bolt the downpipe back to the exhaust, take your tools and sell them on eBay. Leave the car alone and find a good mechanic. Use the car to get from point A to point B.

:tease: hahaha oh thas jz funny.....

Why the heck would you wanna do that for?????? You should jz SAVE...and buy urself a legit DP and exhaust....I wouldn't do it tho....maybe you'll gain some horse power but dude its going to sound like :barf:

jz my 02.

Try it...its only 2 bolts rite

Alright I won't do it, I just wanted to get some opinions on it and I got some, and they're not good LOL. Sorry

Don't mess with your car until you know what's gonna happen. Buy a complete exhaust (dp, catback) and call it a day. Otherwise, leave it stock.

Well I didn't mean to upset anyone over this like I apparently did, but it was just a simple question, I mean this is the newbie forums where you ask questions right? And yes I know about buying an aftermarket exhaust, I planned on it, this was just an idea that came to mind and I had a question so I asked it.

don't get offended, we're not saying u did anything wrong nor are we trying to give you a hard time, I mean we hear you but most of us like me won't agree with that kind of mod....we're here to help you, I'm glad you asked instead of jz going thru with you idea and then all of a sudden, something happends and you mess something up... we're jz watchin out for you bro ;)

+1 :thumb:

I'm not offended, never was. I was just thinking you guys were kind of frustrated with me for asking it or something. But yeah, thank you for giving me your guys' opinions, I'll keep it stock til I buy an exhaust.

I have tried to put my issue on other parts of the site but I can't becuase I am a newbie so I am going to put it here :). So far no one or forum has been able to help me with this issue. I have a 1st gen AWD Talon

I get really really really bad boost creep after 4500 RPM, it stays at about 10psi under that, do not have a set psi yet. But then after that it shoots to 20psi and over. I have been hearing it has a lot to do with exhaust but I am not understanding why. I have a stock down pipe and a 3" apexi all the way back. It is also a stock compression side with a t5 exhaust side style turbo, all brand new with a evoIII exhaust manifold (Gasket matched/ported). I also have all 2nd gen maf sensor and piping/throttle body. I don't know if where I have my boost reference to where its not sending enough through the line to open my waste-gate or if the waste-gate actuator is to strong and is not budging. because i did have a boost controller on it and I thought that was it so I just ran a straight line to my waste-gate from my boost reference but it still did not fix the issue. So I am stumped, any info would be great if you need to know more just ask. Thanks in advance!:thumb:

Could you elaborate a little bit on this turbo of yours? 14B cold side with a T5 hot side? And you question your boost referrence to wastegate but don't mention where it is..well?

Your options are 1. get a manifold with a provision for a external wastegate 2. get a smaller exhaust. 3. build it to hold it.

I believe you meant a stock tdo5 14b turbo, not t5?? The tiny flapper doesn't even open the whole way up, and flows rather poorly. So you open up the exhaust, but the waste gate is still limited by crappy design. Now the turbo outlet that feeds into the o2 housing can certainly flow more with a less restrictive exhaust. The exhaust before had to pick between two crappy routes per say, now it has to pick between a decent route and a crappy route. It picks going through to turbine outlet, thereby spinning the turbine uncontrollably, but only once the wastegate is unable to effectively bypass the exhaust gas..which apparently occurs at 4500 rpm in your case.

If that's not clear let me know and I'll try and clear it up

LOL sorry getting tired turbo is what you said it is TDO5H/14B cold side with a T5 hot side, and my boost reference is on the pipe coming out of the compression side into the inter-cooler. waste-gate is stock and stock mounting.

ok sniver all i need for my motor right now to hold 20psi is new rod bolts, everything else can hold it I am just trying to get some money to get them to put them on. So your saying either get a external waste-gate or I am screwed? :) What do you mean it is spinning my turbine uncontrollably?

td05 is the hot side, 14 b is the cold.
yah what you said :)
