Turbo Boost Creep Creeping T25 14B 16G [Merged]

Creep with a T25, I wouldn't worry about it. I don't think a T25 could out do the stock fuel system if you boosted it to the moon :p

An HX35 is too much for your stated goals IMO. There are people putting down over 500hp to the wheels with HX35's. Plus, like Indian said, the Holset is far from a bolt on affair. You'll need an aftermarket turbine housing to bolt it up, oil feed/return, modded intercooler piping, dented water pipe, lots of fuel etc. Just take a look at the one of the Holset threads to see what all is involved. Holeset Turbos - Part 7

If I were you I'd go with an EVO III 16g, bigger injectors, fuel pump and an SAFC. I ran a 13.2 a month ago on my old 16g so it should be more than enough for your goals. The only issue I see you having is traction, but welcome to fwd. 16gs are great turbos for a street car. There is a couple guys local to me that have not had any problems with the knock off 16g's. But I still vote to get a MHI unit.

It IS possible just rare.

Bishop huh? That's a cool little town, I drove through a few months ago and ate at the carls jr. I bet your the only one for MILES with a modded 1g. My friends and I stopped in Bishop on the way to Mammoth a few years back and ended up camping in Brown's town and partying in Bishop for 4 days. We never made it to Mammoth and we got kicked out of Browns town for making too much noise LOL. That was one of the best road trips of my life.

Sorry for the off topic post.

Really? usually nobody has even heard of bishop. I am the only one with a DSM in town I am my own little team haha. Did you come through in your DSM? That would have made me very happy to see that. :D Good ol browns town haha next time you roll through hit me up haha.I know plenty of scenic highways and back roads that are boost worthy. :thumb: I live in Bishop but work at the NAPA in Mammoth.

Yep I know about Bishop. Been stopping there every time I'm on my way up the 395. Hit that ice cream/yogurt spot and get me some of that bomb jalapeno cheese bread at Schat's bakery. Mule days... :thumb:

The local police don't appreciate giant bon fires and drunken fools in Brown's town LOL. Or loud red camaros! I wasn't in my DSM, I had a '97 Camaro and my 1990 Talon was broken down at the time (didn't have the 92 yet). Next time I'm going to be around there I'll definitely hit you up.

That's a nice drive to work you got there. Do you do it in the DSM?

Haha thats funny man. The police dont like anyone having fun,but they sure have calm down a bit in the past year. Yeah its a nice little cruise everyday right now I am borrowing my familys tundra for the commute because I am currently rebuilding my 92,but in a couple of months or so I will hopefully be enjoying the drive up even more with the DSM. during mule days the population like quadruples wich is fun, but to many mules for my taste. I just cant believe they kicked you out of browns town? thats where your suppose to have a good time.

Thanks... I might just buy the turbo here then.... How reliable are they as far as vendors? And the rest of the kit I can piece together some how. Well like I said tomorrow ill be at the fire house and I probably won't have time to put this stuff together but ill keep you guys posted on what happens.

Check out extreme psi, thats where I'm getting mine from. Port it to avoid boost creep. You can get the install kit from there too.

EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts - Mitsubishi TD05H "EVO III Big" 16G *SALE*

If you get one used just make sure the compressor housing says "TD05H", then you'll know its a genuine Evo III and not a replica.

alright so lately i have been getting some very nasty boost creep. my exhaust mods are o2 housing with atmospheric dump 3 inch downpipe and 3 inch all the way back with no cat, resonators or muffler. if i accelerate softly i stay at 10 pounds and hear my wastegate open. if i accelerate hard it will peak at 10 psi then shoot to almost 20. but my wastegate is opened. this is on a 16g turbo. any help is appreciated ### this is a scary situation.

I have the same problem. 3" down pipe 16g is what i have. those two things are the problem. I ported my turbo and hopefully fixes it. if it dosen"t i will put an external wast-gate on it.

Could possibly be ## waste gate actuator, I have a few waste gates that have slight air leaks from a few cars that had that problem. If u have an air compressor w/ an adjustable regulator, set it to 10 psi or 15 to were it would start to push the rod, find a blow gun and a peace of vac hose, put one end to the wastegate the other held to the blowgun and listen.

hi im new to turbo cars i have a 90 talon tsi that i just bought the motor is modded the kid i bought it from i know well and have rode in the car several times before i bought it now that i have it im having problems it takes off good in 1st gear then i get to second it doesnt wanna go then the boost creeps to 18-19psi and the fuel shuts off i have looked for some leeks but it seems to be fine i tryed unhooking the bov and the car runs great but only puts out 7-8psi and doesnt creep can you help me with this problem is the bov bad? it isnt an ajustable one either the motor is recently been built top to bottom and only has 1000mi so all the gaskets are new thanks for looking and i hope you can help

Yea Im guessing the boost controller is hooked up to the BOV as a vaccum source so thats why when you unplug it the boost level is determined by the Internal Wastegate Actuator....My guess is a leaking BOV or a boost leak....Thats my 2 cents

I think you mean wastegate not BOV. Are you unhooking the part on the turbo itself or the part on the intercooler piping? Also what other mods do you have besides a built motor. Boost creep is nothing new and has been widely discussed as far as causes/fixes. What PSI are you trying to run that it is creeping to 18-19psi.

## right 95black my bad...But It has to be a bad BOV or his vaccum sources are not good sources thats all I could think of it being....I have a little boost creep in my car and thats cause my source of vaccum for the MBC is coming from the Intake Mani instead of a nipple on the compressor or IC pipes

If you wanna look for leaks go to Lowes or somewhere and make a boost leak tester look on here im sure theres a rightup on how to make them...But also check where your source of vaccum is coming from for your BOV and MBC

Wheres the vaccum line that goes to the BOV coming from>? It may not have a strong enough vaccum but im in school right now so if you want and have verizon txt me 724-600-9930

Ok well ill either check this tonight when I get home or u can txt me...Find out where all ## vaccum sources are coming from to your BOV and MBC and their paths

What you are saying makes no sense. If the BOV is unhooked it will stay shut so that should have no relation of the amount of boost run. I would see if it was only making 7-8 and then 18-19 with it unhooked but the way you are stating it, sounds like you are just running wastegate pressure. What is the boost supposed to be set at?

Yes unhooking the BOV wouldn't result in dropping the boost pressure to 7-8psi... there is something you are leaving out or you are mis understanding what you're doing and telling us something not accurate!!

Let me ask,
You Said in 2nd it wasn't pulling but yet you still creeped to 18-19psi??
IF this is soo, you most have a boost leak somewhere down the line!!
i would do a complete deep boost leak test and also throw down a compression test!!
Let us know you results on that and we'll try to help you when you get us some more information!!

edit:
another question.. its been recently rebuilt?? Why did he sell it?
and was the break-in done correctly, or atleast well?
Again i will say this Do a compression test!
and ARE You SURE you Unhooked the BOV and not the wastegate?
sorry for being repetitive... its just hard to understant some of this!
Thanks

good luck

the boost is set at stock psi when i unhook the vacume hose off the bov it only runs 7-8psi and the car runs good through all gears then i hook it back up it runs stock psi in first gear then i get into second it doesnt wanna pull then the boost on the gauge reads 17-18psi and hits fuel cut off

the bov is on the piping going to the intake right?

and there is a rubber hose coming from the front of the intake to it right? well if im correct i unhook that rubber hose off it and i only get 7-8psi thats all i know

Ok that is because you are creating a MASSIVE leak. You are pulling in unmetered air causing the car to run VERY lean. Leave the hose hooked up. You are either losing a ton of boost through the BOV or the car is pulling so much timing you can only get 7-8 psi out of it. Hook everything up and do a boost leak test. Then you can start addressing the creep issue. By porting the o2 housing, removing the wastegate provision in the hotside, things like that.
