Since my car is turbo does that mean i would be better off with a Turbo-Back exhaust system, right now i have the apexi n1 exhaust system which i guess is cat-back, it came on car when i bought it. How could i go bout changing it to a Turbo-Back and what would be the best pieces to get, i hear most ppl talking bout 3" or bigger downpipes and gettn straight pipes and all this, but i have no clue.

Well, to have a complete 'turbo-back' exhaust system, you would need:

Larger O2 Sensor Housing
Larger diameter Downpipe (O2 Eliminator DP can be substituted for DP and O2 Housing)
Test Pipe to replace Catalytic Convertor
Cat-Back Exhaust system.

If your goal is big HP I would go with 3" diameter components, otherwise just stick with 2.5"

Most pieces are the same, no matter where you buy them from. However, I have seen some rather shoddily built O2 Sensor housings on the market. Stainless steel is optimal as well. Hope that helps!

ok so what are the components of the Cat-Back, if i do already have the cat-back, would that mean i need to just replace the cat converter and get larger DP/O2 sensor, to make it a turbo-Back?

sorry i know ur last post should have explained everything i needed to know, im really new to all this and just trying to be sure of everything and learn as i go.

You are correct.

Also, if your cat-back piping goes to a narrower diameter at some points than what you would prefer, you could cut and weld piping with the diameter of your choice, to keep it all the same width

I have the apexi n1 cat back and Apexi GT downpipe. I did not change my o2 sensor housing however. IF you choose to go with the APexi series downpipes you would not have to worry about a hi flow CAT because their downpipes eliminate the cat. So far I am rather content with my 02 sensor housing back 3" exhaust.

Also some places sell 02sensor housing eliminating downpipes, so all you would need is that. search some of the vendors that are part of this site and you should be able to get a good idea of what is available :thumb:

how big is the cat-back? if you want big power and the catback is only 2.5", you should consider selling it in favor of a full 3" system. if what you have now is 3", then buy an o2 elim downpipe that also extends to where the cat would be and you're done. this is probably the second best upgrade for your car right now, you will LOVE it

Although bigger is better when it comes to exhausts, I do think 2.5" piping is sufficient to a certain point. I have 2.5" piping all the way back, and I just came to the realization that my catback is pressbent, but I still make plenty of power. I think a 2.5" exhaust would be good to at least low 12s, if not enough to get you into the 11s.

I also highly recommend getting a downpipe with the O2 sensor housing built in. I was on the highway the other day after having replaced my exhaust manifold to turbo gasket. I was hitting full boost (17-18psi) at 2700-2800RPMs in 5th gear with an FP Big28. My 2.5" exhaust with a hogged out EVO exhaust manifold, O2 eliminator downpipe, and high flow cat, is enough to spool that turbo up quite low. I can't foresee a 3" all mandrel bent exhaust making that huge of a difference. However, I am just speculating.

My point? If you care at all about noise, then a 2.5" exhaust will be plenty assuming you aren't going all out.
