Turbine wheel 64mm 76mm 10 or 12 blade?

What is better a 10 or 12 blade turbine? I see 64mm 76mm or a 66mm 76mm, I'm not sure which one to buy and they have them both in 10 or 12 blade. Thank you for any help. This forum has the most Holset info I have read. Some scumbag stole my last Holset turbo from my garage so I'm buying piece by piece and assembling a new one. I already found the person who did it but they paid me back in cash and the turbo was already gone.

The 64 76 turbine says it's a super 10 blade and it will spool up quicker than the 12 blade. I'm leaning toward that one. Just wanted to ask before I spend $115 on it.

I am no turbo super expert, but more blades spool slower but impeed top end power. Less blades spool slower and have a better top end. However they say it spoils faster because it's lighter but it's not always the case.

When I built my 16g I with with a 9 blade over a 12 blade, I wanted better top end and although it's lighter it's on level ish for spool but I mate it with a 7 blade extended tip comp wheel to bring it back up to spooling sooner,

So if I was you and wanting the best top end go with the 10 blade

What I think you meant was "With a twin scroll setup they do" then yes, it does help.

.70 T3 BEP Once she starts to huff, it's a beast!
Full spool comes in about 4700. It's a 7 blade with a 10 blade exducer. My "spare" is a 6 blade with a 12 blade exducer. I had a 8 blade and it spooled sooner than the 7 or 6 but didn't have as much up top.

Is it a Genuine Holset or a Chinese Knockoff??? Very important. Be very weary of Ebay turbo's in case that is where it is up for sale.

A standard HX40 turbine is 76/64mm. There are at least 5 different turbines used in H1E and HX40 models. The 10-blade wheel has a completely-different blade shape and angle than the 12-blade.

A 10-blade turbine turbine would be better for flow, the 12-blade better for spool. Smaller a/r housings like the .55 DSM-flanged Bullseye housing would favor the 10-blade to help reduce turbine backpressure.

Ok I see now. It is only the compressor cover and the inducer, no CHRA or hot side. My turbo man, JusMx141, always stays away from cheap Chinese stuff but it is only a cover and an inducer so the main part that is so important is the CHRA being original Holset. He is the turbo guru on here and supplies a lot of us with good quality turbo's.

I actually bought a turbo from jusmx141 but that was over 5 years ago. I will be sure to buy a genuine holset CHRA. Is there a website i can buy it from?

Pretty sure any diesel shop can get them but it may be over priced. If you have purchased a unit from one of our supporting members here then I would talk to him again. Jus is my only turbo man and I've been thru a few.
