Need some understanding on turbine wheel , couldnt find info

as for my understanding, a turbine wheel is used to spool up the compressor wheel
but would like to know , why do we need a upgrade to a bigger turbine wheel
lets say a FP Green , y dint it come with a td05h turbine wheel instead for faster spooling

The turbine wheel drives the compressor wheel. The bigger turbine wheel is the more top end car will have. It would breath better, cause the bigger the wheel, less backpressure you have in exhaust manifold, it would evacuate gases faster. That is why FP GREEN came with bigger TDO6 turbine wheel. That would mean a little more lag, but you get more power.

Exactly as andy just said. Another good thing about the bigger turbine wheel is that since it creates less back pressure there is less of a chance for knock. On a smaller turbine wheel it will create more heat in the turbine housing since there is more back pressure. This heat will transfer to the head and then the valves. So the extra heat created in the turbine housing will end up in the combustion chamber which will make it easier to knock.
