I have been doing all of the work to my car myself for many years and looking for people who have done the same to the gst... What all fluid(brake,oil,trans5speed,coolant), plugs,filters do you use?

Welcome to the DSM world! If you haven't heard/found out yet it is a roller coaster ride! They are a blast to drive but can be full of headaches too. I'm glad that you're asking about maintenance type stuff because keeping up with that stuff will make life easier down the road.

For fluids I try to use brand name stuff. Brake fluid I've always used whatever I have around that meets the mfg specs. DOT 3 or 4 whichever it is. Oil is something that you will get a lot of different answers on. I currently run conventional oil in my motor (either rotella or valvoline). If I ever had it rebuilt with forged parts I would switch to full synthetic once it was broken in. I always use redline products for the drivetrain (me being awd: trans, transfer case and rear diff). Coolant and powersteering (when it had it) is just like brake fluid (name brand fluid that meets mfg specs). Spark plugs are always NGKs. Check with DSM vendors for the part numbers. Also do some research on which ones to use depending on how much boost you are running. As far as filters go I use WIX or OEM for oil and fuel filters. K&N for the intake filter.

Hope that helps. The biggest thing I can offer is do your research. Do a lot of reading and get very familiar with the search button. Everything has been covered many times over.
