what is better to tune up a non turbo 2g or a making it into a turbo 2g eclipse? i was wondering because my friend has an integra gsr and it's all motor. it can take on audi TT's, 350z, and the my eclipse which was turbo but it cracked LOL. :dsm: that's why i was wondering if i should buy a new turbo kit or just do all motor

If you're basically asking which is a better base to start with a turbo model would be my choice. And if you have the turbo model already and it just needs a new turbo then I think you just answered your own question. 420a's are pretty limited unless you really start dumping money into them.

when you try to max out the performance of a N/A car your options are very limited... Headers, Exhaust, Intake.. thats pretty much it... with a turbo you can almost never max out a car before running out of funds (unless your loaded)... I would stick with the turbo if your trying to beat your buddy in his GSR...

Plus the GSR has a VTec engine which is the highest quality engine Acura made for the Integra model... Mitsubishi made a 4G63 engine for the (GSX/T) with a turbo... The 420a's are not really made to run tons of power, unless you plan on throwing alot of money into your set up... I would recommend just starting with a GSX or GST if thats an option for you... THe 4G63 engine is made to put out alot more power

I am so confused! What are you asking? It seems like so many incomplete sentences that my eyes hurt.

I was very confused as well but I think he was implying that since his buddy's integra is non turbo, maybe a non turbo eclipse is some sort of beast that he could make fast easily. I'm also under the impression that he has a gs-t with a blown turbo and is torn between getting a non turbo eclipse and a new turbo. Correct me if I'm wrong

Anyway to the OP, look at droppinbottom's dyno numbers. Thats what a turbo 4g63 is capable of and you don't have to break the bank to have a car that will stomp your buddy's gsr

did you just ask if turning your factory turbcharged GS-T into a naturally aspirated would be better?

ok whats done to your buddies gs-r? i dont see how it would smash all of those cars, unless the driver is amazing and the other drivers suck.

ok buy a 16g with the conversion kit, turbo back, injectors, safc, have keydiver make you a chip, and race the gsr.

So you're wondering how/why you lost to your buddies Honda when your car had a blown turbo? WTF

Don't sell your car for a 420a Eclipse. Replace the blown T-25 with a 14b, 16g, or T28 (take your pick). After that you're just a couple bolt-on's away from beating your friend's GSR.

Ya, that has to be one amazing GSR... But in all reality boost is the best way to make power. Just use the search button and see what other people are doing and find something that you think suits you. Then set a goal that is within your budget and start building. Thats the best advice i could give you at this point.

What does the gsr run in the 1/4, and what mph did the gsr trap at. Its not going to be less than 13 all motor. (Unless there is spray). You can get low 13's with an e316g on a bad day.

The 420a is no 1.8 Vtec. The GSR runs about 15.5 stock (With a good driver) Turning your car into a turbo is better than going all motor with the 420a but, selling yours and buying GST or GSX is an even better idea (If you must go turbo). Since a factory turbo car is already set up for the turbo, it'll be cheaper and easier to mod from that point. There's also a ton of aftermarket support for the 4g63T. Wether you want 250hp or 600hp, it can be done easily with 4g63T, as long as you got the money.

If I had to decide... I think I'd find a totaled out SRT4 and put the engine from it into the 420a eclipse/talon

His question was confusing, but I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with SRT-4's.

The evo3 16g is a great fast spooling turbo, fairly inexpensive, easy to come by and can support 350hp to the wheels with the right supporting mods and tune. Can you tell us more about your car now? Is it bone stock? Do you have a boost gauge, MBC, higher flow fuel pump, etc? The more information you provide the more everyone will be able to help.

Edit: Just out of curiosity, is that you smashing taco bell in front of the car in your profile pics? Sorry to be off topic but that picture made my day, LOL : P

im sorry but this is a confusing  post.... The original post was filled with numerous typing errors making it extremely hard for anyone of us to understand.... you should start this post over... starting with your car that you own and the problem you have with that car... than we could all put our collective thoughts together and decide what would help you out :thumb:

to answer the only thing i understand in your first post... it is easier to tune a car with a turbo... so i fyou have a turbo blown turbo fix it

I have no idea what you're trying to say or what car you currently own, but an N/A 420a is not going to be comparable to an N/A gsr. For starters, in comparison, your car is nothing short of a pig. Considering the fastest on record 420a with no boost or nitrous is 13.2's then that should tell you something. The answer is no.

since his profile says he has a gst but from the pics in the profile looks to have a 98 rs/gs since he has the low spoiler. I'm just going to assume he has a rs/gs 420a motor, and say stick with the turbo all motor 420a all motor will probably at most get you low 14s high 13s with alot of money dumbed into it. a friend has a completely built n/a and still was running low 14s, I would say if you want to stick with your car replace the turbo and start building around from there such as new pistons rods cams fuel system and tuning. other wise get a gsx mod that stomp your friend.
