the car is a fwd N/T 94 laser, I don't think the engine is the original? I was sure the engine was an N/T 6bolt but I found a serial number sticker under the throttle body clamp on the block today that reads, NC0112Y5 and the thing also has a knock sensor on the block and was connected to the wiring harness. I lost all compression in #3 cyl so i figured i'd pull the head and check it out and rebuild. My plan was to put a turbo engine in it but this seems to me like the engine dosn't need to be replaced for turboing? also since the knock sensor was connected to the harness does this mean i have a turbo wiring harness as well? any advice or info would be greatly appreciated.

Read this article: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-turbo-system-intercooler/48231-installing-turbo-4g63-into-nt-4g63.html. It will tell you the differences between the non-turbo and turbo blocks as well as the wiring harnesses.
