True 3" exhaust?

Alright.. I have the Megan racing 3" downpipe w/cat eliminator, and today I recieved my HKS Hi-Per (which states on EVERY site that it is 3", or 75mm...http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=1398&). Well, it's 2.25" where it meets the downpipe, and then fter the downpipe, it goes to a 2.5" pipe in the rear. No where is it 3". Is there any adapter I can get to fit it onto a 3" downpipe?

Or, is there any TRUE 3" CATBACKS out there? No reducing or anything, just 3" all the way back. I know VRS has one, but is the N1 like that? Or the thermal catback (obviously have to get a new flange where it meets cat... but thats it.)

Edit : Ok, I measured more carefully and its 3" after the reducer.... do I just take the pipe to an exhaust shop, and tell them to cut that piece off w/the hangers, and make it 3", then weld back on?

I was about to say that they might have sent you the wrong item's. And yea getting the 2.5'' section taken out would be your best bet if your looking for maximum preformace. The entire exhuast system is being slowed down by that 2.5'' section.

Why would you waste that much money on a cat-back exhaust? You could have gone to almost any exhaust shop and had a cat-back fabbed up for under $200.

I would see if you can return the part you bought and then do what keymaster says and just have an exhaust shop do it. It will be cheaper and perform just the same.
