I've been searching for a true full 3" exhaust from the o2 back... and I've yet to find one. Almost all of them have a 2.5" section before the flex pipe. I've always been told your exhaust is only as big as the smallest section.. so I don't get why they call them 3" when it's actually a 2.5". Anyone have a TRUE 3" downpipe thats 3" from the o2 housing back? If so, where did you get it?

Thanks -Cap

You can’t easily bolt up a 3” pipe to DSM 02 housing, so most GOOD pipes neck down to the 2.5” at the O2 housing. Believe me, you do not want a true 3” downpipe!!!

Frankly, 2.5” is fine for most people. Unless you want to run some 10’s

2.5" before the flex section is beneficial, both for clearance and flow. 3" before the flex is neither convenient nor necessary. Exhaust gases will flow perfectly well in the first 2.5" and will then benefit from the 3" increase as gas begins to cool beyond the flex.
