TRE 255 lph pump

Hey guys, i found that my newest GSX has a tre 342 (255 lph) pump, and i think it may be causing my new problem. The car will sputter and cough from 1200 rpm, to about 3000-3200 rpm before it just explodes with power, and boost will build in the sputtering. This is on stock injectors, stock FPR, and a slightly larger fuel filter. Could the un-regulated fuel pressure with the larger pump be the problem? I acts just like a boost leak, but i know thats not it, i have done the BLT, as well as just bypassed the IC. (yes i literally ran a tube from the J pipe to the TB). The car has a 14B turbo, running stock boost, just coughs and sputters till it comes ALIVE. Not sure if the Fuel pressure is making it run rich, or what. I did buy a AFPR, but have not yet installed it. Could this be the problem? I have searched but couldnt find anything specific to this.

Yes it somewhat can, since the stock fpr is usually overrun with a 255lph then yea the overly rich condition under no boost can be causing that, when the boost comes in the fuel pressure settles to what it should be and the car runs right. Gat an aftermarket adjustable fuel pressure regulator and that should help it out, also take a look at your plugs.

never did think of the plugs. I got an aeromotive afpr (13105), just awaiting the AN fittings. As for the plugs, excessive carbon build up?
