Transmission problems...

So I noticed a few days ago my 5 speed f5m31 transmission was grinding a bit in first and second. I thought I was low on fluid so I put some more in. I help it for a day and then it started back this morning on my way to work. But now it was also third. So I came home and started taking it apart and I found this.... Only my luck..

What did you do leave it in the rain? The problem was some foreign object. You can see the worn synchros too.

No i just sprayed them down and cleaned them so I could bringem inside later. I'm think either get new synchros and get my welder to fix the two holes or to do an awd swap.

At least I got to try the brass bushing for the shifter cable for one day. Lol

Did you find the foreign object and was it a gear tooth? You may have something else to fix. Examine all parts carefully

Nope nothing in there, i was suspecting to find something but the gears look fine just the housing and synchros.

You can see the mark on the bellhousing. Whatever it was must have left out that hole. Lost bolt perhaps?

That's what I'm thinking. Because there was one missing.so is it worth rebuilding?

I think you actually got lucky.

I would try to just source another good used trans. You could easily spend more money on that than a used one in good shape. Then try to just sell the guts as is to make some money back.

Just curious, do you have the stock damper crank pulley or an aftermarket one?

I've already got me a new one In it with a plain excedy clutch. And yeah I just have the stock one why?

How much could I get out of the guts?

I was thinking about excessive vibration, harmonics that may have caused the bolt to come loose.
