Hey guys, I'm building a 98' 2g Eclipse GSX. I really want to work towards a 2.3 autocross build eventually. Looking for a transmission that can handle around 500Ft/lbs of torque. I know that I'm late to the game in terms of having parts availability for these cars (especially transmission parts). Ive looked at TRE, Jacks, PPG, and TMZ. I am only seeing stage 1 transmission rebuilds that "handle sub 400ft/lbs" , then the PPG Dogbox transmission which is a little bit of overkill for the build. I dont want to switch to an Auto Transmission either. Does anyone know anyway to get a manual transmission capable of roughly 500 ftlbs into the 2g eclipse gsx without going the dogbox route? I appreciate any ideas.

Don't waste your time on Mitsubishi gears with that level of torque. The next step up would be the PAR synchro gear set, and/or the NEAT gear set if it ever gets released. Nobody really knows for sure how much more power the NEAT kit is good for, but it's still helical gear (quiet) and replacement parts should be easiest to obtain.
