*Sorry if this is in the wrong section*
About 3-4 days ago, I purchased a 1997 Spyder GS 2.4l. It drove fine, no transmission issue while driving. Was on the interstate 30 minutes, going about 55-60. After about 30-35 minutes the car shifted into Neutral and would only rev up. Thought it was over heating (heat hand doesn't work) so I sit with it about 30 minutes to cool down. Got back in it. It drove another 5 minutes, and same thing. Shifted into N and only revs up.
After this time, the car wouldn't go into any gears. So I had it towed to my house. The tow bed was covered in what I thought was transmission fluid. Dark red color.
I only know a few things about this car. And one was that the Passenger CV axle kept sliding out. So I figured that might be my issue. So I got that, and put it in. No change.
Checking the Trans fluid at running temp, and it was full. Checked the power steering, full. Brake fluid is full. Oil level is full. Everything that could be what I saw on the bed of the tow truck was full. So I have no idea what the fluid could be.
When shifting, nothing changes. The idle stays the exact same. I thought it could be a broken shifter line. But the shifter is working on both sides. The only way I can tell it's in gear is because I can Push it in gear, and I can't push it in Park. So I know it's shifting, just won't move.
Any advice on what to do?
