So I got my 6-bolt swap done at a decently reputable shop about 45 minutes away.
After the motor was in it was out of time and eventually blew itself. They gave me an "OK" deal even though it wasn't my fault the motor blew, on a rebuild. After about a month of the rebuild I Drove my GSX Daily and it had a thermostat leak, and an oil pan leak. I took it up to the shop to get these fixed. After about 2 weeks I got the car back and on the way home I heard a whining noise whenever I gave it throttle. Also the car / gas pedal vibrated horrendously. I took the car up to the shop again to find out one of their techs didn't put gear oil in my transfer case! The car was fine before I took it up there and now it rattled and vibrated and accelerated 1/2 as fast. After about 5-6 trips up there to fix this vibration and them being clue less, my transmission blew over this weekend while going 65 in 5th gear for about 10 minutes. I pulled over and to my surprise I got to see gear oil just pouring out of my transmission.

Main question:

If you drain the transfer case fluid would it mess with a transmission? If so shouldn't they be obligated to fix my transmission?

If you drain the transfer case gear oil it has nothing to do with the tranny gear oil (assuming manual trans). But on the other hand the transfer case will get very hot and the gears will wear very fast leading to premature transfer case failure. If it locks up while driving then you can kiss your center diff good by and then prob a couple other gears that those chunks fly into. Pull the tranfercase out and see if it is locked up. It's real easy just drain the oil out of it. There's I believe 5 17mm bolts on the side of it you need to take off. Then pull it away from the transmission output shaft and the drive line pulls right out the back. If its locked up I would tell them they owe you a new tranny.

I've had the pleasure of seeing this twice on my car:sosad:. Third tranny YYYEEAAA!!!!!

I'll end up probably pulling off my T-case and exhaust and get my tansmission off the vehicle too ready to swap in a new one. I'm going to school 12+hours away in Beginning september and can't afford to have no car. I'll update you guys probably tomorrow if it's locked up. Thanks for the input.

Quick question: Main way to test the T-case is to just see if the gears spin correct?

yup if they dont spin easy its locked! but i would just call the shop that did the work and tell them to come get the car and fix it for free since it was there problem.. enough bitching and yelling will get it fixed! been there done that..

Yeah the only problem is I've been dealing with all these problems with this shop for about 6 months now.

First it took them 4 months to put it together.
Then my engine blew within 100 miles of being put together
Then rebuilt and i had to pay for more than half of everything, including labor, milling the head, honing the block blah blah

then oil pan leaked and cracked thermostat housing.
Went to get those fixed and their new "tech" there didn't fill my T-case back full.
Then they finally timed it right after i told them they were dumb if they thought fuel blowing out the back was in-time.
and now my whole transmission blew! I don't know how they dont hold themselves accountable for my transmission blowing.
Oh well though I just got a killer deal on a TeamRip transmission and it was cheaper than my imported one that had 30-40k miles.

Hopefully now I can push them into a corner and make them pay me for the transmission.
I'll probably end up putting it in myself though beings I hate dealing with them.

Beware, anyone in Cincinnati area in Ohio, please just stay away from Raceline, and Zerolift. Raceline is a shop that doesn't get anything done. and Zerolift gets stuff done but is way too expensive and if you have a problem with a project or your car then their customer service goes out the window.
