they mount differently. the auto has the top mounting point of the center section about 3-4 inches higher than on the manual case. i have a pic of mine in the classifieds check it out. I know that the auto and manual cars have different final ratios in the rear diff and trans but don't know if the ratio in the transfer is different. can't think of a reason why it would be. anyway, one simply won't bolt up due to the mounting of the center section, at least 1 bolt won''t go in.

^ I concure. They are different, they will NOT work. Besides what has already been said, the gear ratios are different. If your doing a Trans conversion, make sure you change the rear diff as well or KABOOM!
