1G Trans won't go into top gears

Ok, I just got my transmission back after a Shep Stage 3 molestation. I have everything all bolted back up, new T/O Bearing, and refilled with fluid. All the shifter cables are hooked back up, but now it will only go into the bottom gears (2nd,4th,R). I cannot get it into the other gears and it feels as if the shifter itself is sitting really low(towards the rear of the car in the console). I am thinking that the shifter may need adjusting but I'm not 100% sure. Has anyone else had this problem? Any advise would be helpful. Thanks.
BTW car is a 1990 AWD with a 92 Trans swap.

Sounds like an adjustment issue with one of the shifter cables. Also check under the hood to make sure nothing is blocking the linkage from moving.

It won't go into top gears because you have a '92 trans. 90's shifters differ from '91-'94 shifters. Check this out

If you put a 91-up tranny into a 90 car, you'll need to use the 90 mounting bracket, or the tranny will only go into 3/4/5/R, 1/2 won't be accessible. Conversely, if you use a 90 tranny in a 91-94 TEL or GVR4 without swapping the brackets, 1/2/3/4 will work, but you won't be able to access 5/R.

Did your car originally have the same transmission or is it different?

Car is a 90. It had the 90 trans but everything was swapped over to 92, trans, t-case, and shifter wise. It worked fine before I tore it out for the rebuild. Hmmm

I had this problem and my MBC came unattached and was in the way of the shifter weight.
