I have lost 2nd and 4th gear any ideas on what might have happened???

The funny thing is I google searched for "catastrophic transmission failure", and this was the first image I got in the results that showed a destroyed transmission. It's off a Laser.

Holy kaboom. Bet he needed a new set of jockeys when the flywheel / clutch ventilated the hood.

Make sure your shift cables aren't moving and are bolted down in the engine compartment.
