So now my transmission is going out on my car, and i know for a fact it is the throw out bearing due to tests, and also when you push in the clutch the grinding noises stop. but i was wondering how much should it cost to replace the tranny, and clutch kit, if i already have the parts for it?

If you think its the throw out bearing thats bad then you wont need a whole new tranny, its just the bearing on the input shaft and the pressure plate fingers could possibly be messed up if its grinding against the bearing. so id recommend getting a mitsubishi oem throwout bearing, whichever clutch pressure plate and disc u'd like and either turn the flywheel if possible or buy a new one. Book time at a shop would be about 5 hours for a fwd n/a, so up to you for the labor if doing it yourself, i've done a 95 auto trans in a day, and had a 90 manual out in 1 1/2 hrs but im a professoinal mechanic, so if you're fairly mechanically inclined its not to bad.

+1 on the OEM TOB. I did a transmission swap in my drive way in about 2 days and that was only working on it for 4 hours each day or so and that to me was a long time. Follow the way to do a clutch chang on vfaq. It's easy to get out hard part is to get it back in because you can't drop it from the top and if you have a cherry picker it would make it so much easier to get it back in. Slide it under the car and used the hoist to pull it up into position. Also make sure your dowel pins on the tranny stay on and are in good condition. While you are there why not do a clutch chang if you want to but the TOB will take you a whole couple minutes to change once you drop the tranny.

Yea i'll NEVER use an aftermarket throwout bearing again, act sent me one with my 2900 for my gsx, bearing was bad so i had to drop it back out to change to a mitsubishi, nothings worse than having to drop a tranny back out right after you start the car and hear that squel.
