I am having a fairly noticeable clunk in my front end. I have checked the ball joints MULTIPLE times and replaced an upper control arm and a lower control arm. I also have done inner and outer tie rods on both sides. EVERYTHING IS TIGHT. The clunk is very noticeble when im turning and hitting bumps. It makes the front end feel very sloppy. With the car on the ground i can twist the drivers side axle a fairly good amount and the passenger side axle has a little in and out play from the transmission. Could the axles cause a "clunk". I have no vibrating or clicking problems (but i do hear the click when i twist the axle by hand). Is play normal for the axle? If so in what directions is it normal?
