I read some ppl saying that spraying pre-compressor is bad because water can pool up in the IC? I feel like having an IC is better than not since it’s a street car that I drive often.
In a laboratory, sure. If you spray enough water. In a motor sports application, no. You don’t flood the motor. Only mist it.

I flood it but, I am also a max effort, four digit horsepower car.

And didn’t I already say we road raced a Galant for years with no intercooler? We used two 950’s spraying E85 between the turbo and throttle body. Six 950’s total, 500whp sledgehammer.

I’ll share a video of my street driven 4g63 truck a built long ago. Never had a problem at 800whp and put a serious amount of miles on that truck. Think actual daily driver. I am an idiot of course.

What effect does spraying lots of water have on the spark? I run 10es gapped at like .016. Eff moving steam through that gap already unhappy with it all as it is.

How did you control two 950 injectors?
It was a problem spraying a lot of water on my Festiva. That was a little baby 1.3L motor. It had compound turbos and I was spraying before the low pressure turbo and the high pressure turbo. So it would flood the cylinders easily. I finally found the correct sizing through testing.

The new engine is 3.8L and I have not found the limit yet. I will be adding more water before my next event. I have increased nozzle sizes a few times now. Including adding the second nozzle in the compressor housing. So displacement seems to be more forgiving as to what it will ingest. Granted the 1.3 was making 415whp and the 3.8 is making nearly 1,100whp. That also affects it as well.

The Galant with 6 950’s was ran through Dsmlink with an injector driver as support.

My rat rod had 10 1600’s(2 in the pipe and two in each runner in the manifold) and it was also controlled with Dsmlink and an injector driver.

The Galant used a forced four box. I used an AEM 10 channel for my truck. You just split the signal if you need or have odd numbers. The Galant we just didn’t use the other two channels.

Pretty simple. It is just wires. Everything was ran as staged but, we’re turned on pretty low. That seemed to be the best way to not flood the motor or have it freak out when the secondaries were turned on.

How does spraying fuel in your exhaust help your cylinder temperatures? That’s right. It doesn’t.

I have been 230mph in a dsm at Bonneville with no intercooler. We road raced a 500whp Galant for YEARS with no intercooler. I made 800whp with my 4G63 rat rod with no intercooler. As you can see, I am a big fan of not using them.

My current land speed car(3800 powered) makes 1,xxxwhp with no intercooler.

Keep it simple. I would rather my setup than a $40 Chinese intercooler. Fun fact, air/air intercoolers aren’t cooling anything. Especially in short distance racing. They are a heat sink first and radiator second at that point.

People have been running no intercoolers for decades. I am no pioneer here. Most run alcohol or better based fuels of course.

And to add salt to your wound. I ran 12.6@112 at 5,800ft(8,800ft DA) with a 14b. Clearly you need to rethink your life goals

What's the car doing in the 70-90 and 60-90, or better yet, get a Dragy, make sure the power is there first. I haven't looked at your tune. I don't think you should be launching with more than 5-6psi on street tires honestly. What are you revving to? It's important to rev high and bang the shift so the turbo remains spooled or this will kill your times drastically.

Best 70-90 was 1.7 seconds. NLTS was really killing things and apparently my IC too as I was expecting much higher trap speeds

How much boost are you running? Built engine? What fuel?
E85. 28psi. Old school fp green (gen 1 maybe??). Almost stock 1g timing maps (20degrees up top). Stock 1g engine with good compression. Afr 12:1.

Are you guys just straight dumping the clutch to get good 60’s? I’m trying not to break anything in my drivetrain so slipping for too long apparently but, it sure didn’t seem like it in the moment.

It should be trapping in the 120s at that boost. Verify your CAM timing is correct. Check for boost leaks (including your turbo's compressor housing.) Boost leak test it to 30psi. Fresh set of NGK plugs and wires if you don't already have. and post a 3rd gear pull log. 50-100'ish. I would richen it to mid to low 11s for now. Can you post your mod list please?

Launching really depends on your clutch setup and tires.....I like launching at a lower RPM with more boost. It's more like a quick slip.
