I have one of those 70mm Ford TB's which has 3 wires coming from the TPS. The stock TPS has 4 wires. Does anyone know which ones go to which. The guy i bought this intake from had it wired into his 2g TPS but he did not remember which wires went to which ones. Here is a picture to help you better understand it.

If it was a 1G i could help you but since its a 2G you will need to look up a wiring schematics.

Well does anyone know the wiring schematics for the stock 2g TPS. I just need to know what wire is the power, ground, and the TPS sensor wire on the stock 2g TPS wire harness.

Can anybody please help me on the TPS wiring?

black is ground. the green with the stripe is the power and should be at the opposite end from the ground when looking at the plug. THIS IS FOR A 2G TPS. I just wired mine yesterday. the other 2 are for your sensour output and ground. Not sure which is which but they are in the middle of the plug. hope i helped.

We got it. Took a voltage tester and figured them out. Yellow wire we didnt use and green was the signal wire.

Could I get clarification on this please? My 2G does not have an Idle Position Switch like the 1Gs. I am running a larger 1G throttle body and looking to replace the Throttle Position Sensor. Can I run the 3-wire TPS?

The IPS is inside the TPS on a 2G not external like on a 1G.

Running a 1G TB gives you a bit of a choice, you can use the 2G TPS, keep the factory wiring, and adjust the TPS position based on where the IPS switches like you would with a 2G TB or you can pill the wire for pin 3 on the 2G TPS connector and extend it to connect to the 1G IPS and just set the TPS (either 1G or 2G) by it's output voltage.

What you can't do is use 1 1G TPS without making a provision for the IPS.

Thank you for the clarification. My idle doesn't rev higher that the standard 900rpm of warm idle, even when starting up cold. Never has since we've had it.

Something changed on our recent road trip. Now you have to keep your foot in the gas until it is warm or it will die. Smells really rich.

FIAV block off plate and the ISC pintle moves backward when power is applied. No vacuum leaks and yet it has a very rough idle until the engine begins to warm up. Both temp sensors are new and it ran great for several days.

I will check the recently installed spark plugs tomorrow and measure the resistance on the ECU temp sensor to make sure it didn't go bad.
