I had a motor built 2 years ago that has sat in the car while i kept acquiring turbo parts etc. How many ft/lbs does it take to spin motor over w/o plugs on a torque wrench? Is 35 lbs normal? Tried searching everywhere but unrelated results. Thanks.

Do you have dual or beehive springs with an aggressive cam set? If so, that will make things MUCH harder to turn over (also higher comp will add a bit too). However, since it has sat so long, I would consider oiling it or filling it with oil if you had not already if not to make it easier to turn over but to ensure that vital components don't start rusting.

in neutral, spark plugs out and no accessory belts, it should spin over very easy. youll just have valve spring resistance

Beehive springs kelford 272 arias Pistons 8.5:1 new everything, turned over with plugs out. Popped off valve cover and there's still lube on cams... Wd40 into spark plug holes and let sit. Poured 1/2 cap of oil In each cylinder And rotated motor over 6 times ensuring timing is correct. I'd hate to have to drop the pan and pull caps off and relube the bearings... Trying to get it ready for woodward dream cruise in two weeks

If it was freshly assembled and has sat for a while from my experience its "normal". I had an engine with the same situation years ago. What I would do is with your break-in oil in the engine, remove the timing belt and put a drill with a 14mm onto the oil pump gear and run it for about 30 seconds. Thatll get oil primed into the passages and onto the journals. Then get the timing belt back on and give her a couple rev's. Now you'll have oil on the bearings and not just assembly lube. Thats me though.
