High compression build here with a low 9 second goal in mind.
I had my machine shop get a torque plate made. The way I see it, with the amount of money spent on my build I would much rather have the peace of mind knowing that all the parts are true and tolerances are EXACTLY where they should be. After the machine shop got done with my motor I double checked all their numbers just to reassure myself. Things change on the block when aftermarket hardware is used. Thats just the way it goes.
No sense in taking chances when pushing any motor.
I would suggest double checking your block with a plate and go from there.
Good luck with the build.
