Awesome! If I could borrow/buy it from you that would be great. I had a collection of springs, but I also have a problem of throwing things out :ohdamn:. Did a pull on the new build and saw the boost heading to 32+psi at 4.8k rpm and am stumped as to how. Bought an o2 housing setup from Punishment racing. They said it had a 20psi spring in it.... Guess it didnt :c. Luckily the car is still all in once piece.

Unless... wait. They dont even make springs that high. Ugh. Time to figure out whats up.
 
I would love to keep 30+ psi, but I'm still on a stock 7 bolt bottom end. Rods and pistons are purchased, but I never bothered to install them. The Holset spools insanely fast though.

And fingers crossed! I'm just going to have to figure out why the wastegate doesn't open.
 
Can you push the piston in by hand? U should be able to if it's 11lbs it won't be easy, just try and make it ope , next step I'd say is take out the spring and see if the piston is stuck at all.


Edit: first check your boost line at the wastegate doesnt have burn marks or cracks.
 
I just bought my car and do not know my way around the 4g63 whatsoever. I would love to meet up with someone who isn't crazy far away and see if we can't figure out what has been done to my car. the guy I bought it off of said he replaced 7 bolt w 6 bolt and is running 18 lbs boost. I cannot back that up at all. I'm in desperate need of some info. Its my first car so I'm just kind of learning what is what. I'm 24 you'd think I'd know how to figure this shit out by now being the enthusiast I am... I was just reading your guys convo and its waaaay over my head haha.

vfaq.com will become a good friend of yours. Be sure to change your oil, spark plugs, coolant, check the coolant for any oil/ anything that shouldnt be there. Do a boost leak test. Do you have a boost gauge? What turbo does it have? Does the car have any form of adjusting the fuel? (Safc, dsmlink...)



Also, urbansmoker, I can barely afford these new top hats and pay bills. Aint going to have it tuned for another month. Even then, I probably wont run it, because its got to survive over the summer at least without any major issues.
