To spray or not to spray copper gasket stuff

Getting ready to put the oil filter housing back on the front case.
Should I spray the gasket with some of that copper stuff or not. It is just a paper gasket that came in a Fel-Pro kit. Just trying to make sure things go right on this N/T 1g.
 
Ok,thanks Steve.I just didn't want to look at it later with oil dripping between the two surfaces.
 
I don't use it on the WHOLE gasket in my stuff. Just key areas and not too much. Usually it is as Steve pointed out, a machined surface so it shouldn't need it if all is good on the mating surfaces.
