To rebuild, or NOT to rebuild? that is the question!

Ok so I bought this turbo about 3 years ago before I even bought my gst.
It has a lot of up and down play! so I need to rebuild it before slapping it on my ride.
I saw another dsmer on here post up pics of 2 turbos he was about to buy, and the experts told him they were both junk and saved him from being screwed!
I want to do something similar here.
I've been pondering getting this thing rebuild.... but I want to know if this thing is even worth rebuilding or if its an ebay knock off that wouldn't last me long even after rebuilding it.

Here are some pics. of the turbo Im talking about. theres also 2 cracks on the turbin housing that really worried me. but I talked to the guy that rebuilds turbos, and he told me he wouldn't worry about the cracks because metal expands anyways when hot so those cracks wouldn't affect the car when running at normal temperature.

The guy that sold it to me said it was a big 16g...

That, or I normally have 16G cores at the shop which takes the risk out of again buying something that cannot be rebuilt or isn't worth rebuilding.

oh cool even better! just give me a price and give me some time to set money aside for it. My next purchase is going to be aluminum radiator because mine leaks, but hell I'd like to scoop up a 16g right after that! :thumb:
