To Rebuild Or Not To Rebuild That Is The Question!!!

Hello. I have a 1995 eagle talon TSi fwd with about 154,000 miles on the car/engine and lately when i go to take off just normal at a stop sign the car will leave a puff of blue smoke behind it. I know thats oil being burned but I dont know what would be the problem making it burn it. Also I have a 14B on there that I think also burns oil because when I get into the turbo at WOT blueish smoke comes out of the exhaust the whole time the turbo is spooled. I also have an oil leak. My question to the tuners is should I buy the complete rebuild kit from slowboy racing and rebuild it or what? Also should I go ahead and get a small 16G to replace the 14B. Please help me on this decision and let me know all that I should do because I am going to begin saving now. Thanks.
 
Blue smoke is coolant isnt it? i think your either burning coolant or oil but i think black is oil so yeah... well have you looked into why your burning possibility A or B? I think it might be your turbo... and for a rebuild cost of a 14b you might as well splurge and get a 16g so why not? if you have a couple hundred more to spend since you own a 14b? but do you need the installer kit?

Blue smoke is oil.
Coolant is White.

Your turbo may be shot. Take of the intake to see if there is oil in there.
You could also do a compression test to see how your cylinders are doing.
 
but when i just let out the clutch to start going it blows blue smoke which is not when the turbo is spooling...but also does when the turbo is spooled....could this onl be from a bad turbo? and can the turbo be bad but still be putting out 18psi? and how do i do a leak down test?
 
No those readings are really low, especially the 90s...are you sure you did it right? Redo the test to be sure...because your engine sounds ####ed up man...
 
Black smoke is runnning rich: it may be your valve seal as well, if your compression is that bad then a rebuild or new motor is in your future.
 
my cylinders were ovaled AND my valve guide seals were leaking. the thing is i didn't know untill i decided to rebuild cost m bout 600 did all the work myself xcept boring and other machining. did the head/valve seals myself. 600's not bad to fix a smoker
