Tire pressure question for my 97 gsx

The ones on the door is for the factory rims and tires..Go by whats on the tire. 40ish the tires will be hard..Like riding on a gravel road..

well i have stock gsx wheels that came with the car but the tires are for sure diff in my opinion i think 40psi is 2 much...im running 32psi in all 4 now.

I always take what's on the tire and lower it. They list the max psi it should be inflated to. Keep in mind, your tire pressure should be checked when the tires are cold (aka haven't been driven in a while - like overnight). This is because pressure rises as they heat up. I typically set mine between 32 and 38psi, depending on what the max rating is on the tires.

Yep, that should be fine for daily driving. If you ever take it to a drag strip or autox/road race, you'll want to adjust your pressure then. But you can do some research on what pressure to run when that time comes.

I don't pay attention to the door labels on any vehicle. If you do, you'll be wearing tires out prematurely on a regular basis as well as getting poor fuel mileage.

Tire technology is constantly changing. Every manufacturer builds their tires differently, and what might've been correct 10 years ago is far from correct now. Run whatever you feel is safe between the door tag pressure and the tire's max safe pressure, and pay close attention to tire wear....if the edges are wearing off of all four tires, your pressure is too low. If you're wearing out the centers only, you need to lower the pressure a bit.

I run my tires at 40psi. Max on them is 44. At 32psi, they weren't hard enough and the center wasn't wearing correctly.

I run 36PSI because my in town driving feels easier? doesnt feel so much like a boat. that and i raise my lower timing sliders around 3000rpms for more umph.

The nice thing about tire pressure is it's adjustable. If they're too hard, you let some air out; too soft, add some more.

You can find your own happy medium.

Not that big of a deal overall, a few psi won't matter. I run my tires around 35 psi on the street, but that can increase as much as 5 psi after a long drive. When I autocross I bump the rears up to about 40, the fronts to 37 as it makes the car handle more neutrally. If the pressure is too low the car will feel wallowy and slow to react, you run the risk of denting a wheel, and you wear the outer edges. To high and the ride will feel harsh and stiff, you will have less traction and will wear the center tread. Sidewall profile and stiffness make a difference too...

im running 35 psi in all 4 tires is that good for daily driving and racing? 2 tires are rated max 52psi the other 2 are 44psi.

We have given you plenty of information on how what tire pressure you should run. Pick a pressure and if it doesn't feel right, change it. It's not that hard. I wouldn't suggest trying to run different pressures font/back until you know more.
