Hi everyone,

So i am putting my engine back together. and now i am at the timing part. Got everything aligned and perfect tension. started spinning but after 150 degrees turning it stopped. i am pretty sure its a valve so i put it back on the timing marks. checked the cam shafts and yes when piston 4 in going TDC its blocked by the exhaust valve wanting to open. So after a bit of looking it stood out that both the camshaft have all the cams facing the same way. I brought the head to a machinist to clean and check everything out. So i really dont know what to do now. does anyone have any suggestion on how the cams should be facing or what could be happend? I will put in some pics asap

Solution
Thanks a lot for every reaction. It was the plate that was flipped. i cleaned it all up and didnt see the mark and just put it on. Lesson for next time take more time :)
The pictures down below as promised. ( balace shaft is deleted and spun it one round thats why it doest line up)
Thanks again for everyone!

Still the OEM ones. Jup if I remember correctly the intake cams are bigger right?

Take pics of your timing marks. Is the crank alignment plate on the correct way and not flipped backwards? IE Cyl 1 at TDC the mark is lined up.

I will make some pictures tomorrow. It's already 11 pm here. But does flipping the crack plate change something?

I suggest you wait til you post some pics. Itll be easier for us to see what you did. You don't want bent valves that's for sure!

Yes, the plate put on backwards won't time properly.

Yes. TDC will be incorrect. If 6 bolt, the crank position would be 45 degree retarded (If 7 bolt, would be advanced) if you set all the timing marks correctly with flipped crank plate.

Most of cases, the crank plate is flipped or simply wrong valve timing is set.
Probably I am not understanding well or am confused what you stated, but IF those above are really true as I understood, perhaps you have 2 intake cams. And maybe valves are interfering with valves, not with pistons. If that's the case you would bend and damage valves easier than contacting with piston. Anyways don't force to rotate until it's solved. It's unlikely though.
