Timing light

After replacing the timing belt and getting everything into time mechanically, do I need to time the engine with a timing light? Or does the ecm do that with the cas? I have a '97 GST with a 7 bolt.

No you are good. No need to set ignition timing on a 2g

No need to set ignition timing on any car after a timing belt change. You didn't change anything associated with IGNITION timing. Only VALVE timing.
