So I had a question about my obersvations on the timing light use. I bought a Craftsman Advance Inductive Timing Light. I painted a line across the pulley so I could see the timing mark clearly. The white line seemed to jump back and forth at the 5 degree timing advance on the timing gun dial. But when I put it at the 0 degree timing advance, the white line seemed be stable and to not jump around at all. So to check where the timing is at, should the light be making the white line seem sold and stable? If so that means I am off and at 0 degree timing advance. How would I correct this and get the car to the 5 degree timing advance it should be at? This is my first time using a timing light. When it jumps around it is on the 5th tick mark from tdc. When it stabled out it was at the 2nd tick mark.
