2G Timing Belt Question

So I recently bough a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. I'm wondering every how many miles it needs a timing belt replaced? It was last done at 89,000 and it has 154,000 on it. Also where would I post questions on how to increase my gas mileage and horsepower? I have a K&N cold air intake on it already, the owner said he put a catalytic converter on it, not sure if that's stock or not? If I could get some answers that'd be great!

Timing belt is done around 60,000 miles but since you just bout it Id recommend doing it and water pump just to be save. Never know if previous owner actually changed it or used oem parts. Just better do getting it done along with all the other fluids being changed and checking everything over. Maintenance comes first before doing anything else

I have the paperwork saying it was done at 89,000 and my cars going into the shop on Wen.

Your due for a belt change also do balance belt or delete it and also redo the tensioners both mechanical and hydrolic oem or better always in my opinion dont trust others he could have a second car he did it on and showed that recipt just do it its a few hundred now or few thousand for an engine

Definitely a smart move. These cars are not forgiving when it comes to changing the belt on time.

If ever in doubt change it and all timing components, a valve job isnt cheap especially if you have nice valves, wanna keep them straight.

Yes same as above, Timing Belt around every 60-80K(Max) and change Balance Shaft Belt, and if not already replaced maybe a water pump while your in that area and get a new mechanical tensioner pulley(Hydraulic tensioner only if needed or high miles) as well. Their is also some High End timing belts too that are stronger.
