So im lookin for a timing belt kit and i found one at extreme psi but what belt and balance shaft belt do u guys think i should get the oem, gates, power enterprise,or hks? i was gonna get the gates timing belt with the power enterprise balance shaft belt.... and what does a balance shaft eliminator kit do and do i really need it?

Your choice on the belt, they will all do fine. I used an OEM one.

As far as the balance shaft eliminator kit it does just that, eliminates the balance shafts. The balance shafts are not really needed and if the balance shaft belt breaks it will take your timing belt with it.

so should i eliminate the balance shaft? so if i get the kit then i dont need the balance shaft belt right?

The oem belt is great unless you want over 400 hp, or so the stock one is fine. I woudl get the bse kit im installing mine right now. Less things to break a bit more hp, cheap, and somewhat easy to do.

Eliminating the balance shafts would require taking out the motor... some would say just cut the belt.. but that wouldnt solve much now would it ;)

Plenty of people have pushed the OEM timing belt to 600hp, and ive seen even greddy kelvar belts tear apart on motors well before 400hp...

hmmm taking the whole motor out uhmm no thanks ill just keep it LOL

THats why i did mine it was there, and the engine was out, down to the bare block. After the problems i had the shafts were coming out, trying to get it simple and light as possible. Less rotatating mass, thats what i like.

Yea definetly save it until you have to pull the motor out.... thats when i did mine...

The "Impossible" part in doing the BSE kit, is the rear bearing... its damn near impossible to remove/turn it with the motor in the car..

Although im sure some people find ways ;)...
