i just got rid of my fp manifold and i'm getting rid of my hx35w and i got a t4 hks cast manifold like shep used to have, and i'm trying to decide wich t4 or t4 divided turbo i should go with and i would like some input from everyone.
im looking for something that will support around 550-650hp give or take and not extremely laggy it must be available in t4 or t4 divided. im open to all ideas.
all advice is and will be greatly appreciated,

Jon.

yes i know it can and probaly will get pricy but i've decided its time to go big or go home.
im not realy looking for something in a specific price range , as in a little over a month ill be collecting a 5,000k insurance check, so money wont be a problem and any price range will work...

so suggest away!!...LOL,

jon.

Why not just go to a hx40 or maybe even a hx55 :aha: then just build a spare engine for later with the rest of the money :D

LOL it has crossed my mind to just build another nice motor for my other white/black 1ga:hmm: ....but i think im just gonna go ahead a buy some more goodies for my car and do a 1g rod/2g piston build with an evoIII 16g setup later on for my other tsi awd...
ive kinda been looking into some BW turbos but havent came close to making any kind of decision
i had a good deal on a brand new t4 hx55 but i let it get away

its an 8blade ar.55 t3 hx35 so i dont beleive it will flow enough air for 650hp id rather get something bigger that is t4 or
t4 divided...im asking for ideas/opinions on what people think i should run

do you have any info on an hx35 that made around 600hp?,if so i would reconsider keeping it as they spool really fast in comparison to most larger turbos

No way are you going to get 600hp on a 8-blade hx35. The a flow rate is only 52 lbs/min rather than the 7-blade which is 60 lbs/min. The most you could get out of an 8-blade is maybe 550hp if your lucky and your car can take a beating.

If your still shooting for 600-650hp go with the HX40, badman21 has already top 650hp with a HX40.

do they make a t4 housing for the hx40?

A few people have divided T4 HX40, but it's rare to fine those. The most common housing is the undivided T3, but I don't think that the divided make that much of a difference. It's not a GT40 or GT42.

The hy35 is a t3 it would be easier to get manifolds and parts.. I dont think the hx make much more power over the hy

Why dont you go uncommon and run something that not everyone on the face of the planet is using. HKS T04z or t51r....but the 51 is more of a 42r.
Run a Borg Warner unit of some sort or maybe just build a hybrid. Idk, im on this site a good bit and it seems like everyone has the same aspirations and runs the exact same setup. All i ever hear anymore is HTA HTA or Holset, geez, someone max one out already or try something new that hasnt been used anymore.

600whp is the new 400 i swear.

Hy35 uses a 9cm undivided t3 inlet with holset exhaust flange. It has a smaller turbine than hx35 and they dont offer a bolton housing for it. The compressor is basically comparable to a 7blade hx35 wheel ive been told. It would need a t3 manifold and custom downpipe but should spool quick with the 9cm which is about .63ar.

The 7 or 6blade HX40 would be perfect for the OP's goals! That would be great if they made the Bullseye .70AR T3 housing in T4 but i dont think they do but could be wrong.

Bullseye Power does superb engineering to make the power with little lag. It's pointless in designing a t4 housing for the hx35. The compressor is too small for the t4 volume.

I just said t4 inlet because he already has the manifold. I still intended for .70ar. They make housings with "t4 inlet and mitsu outlet" in .55ar(useless). but i dont think they make the" vband .70ar" in t4, only t3. I was also talking about the 6/7blade hx40 and not hx35

I personally wont be touching anything from Bullseye. I have heard very few good things about them and it seems like a lot of them are being sent back for warrenty issues. I know English is not a fan of the Bullseye products either.

I wish I could recommend something worth trying, but I havent looked into hitting your HP targets yet. Im sure it gets frustrating trying to figure out what its going to take to get there and yet most people are trying to make up your mind for you.

Yeah there are quite a few options for each power range which makes turbo selection a pain in the ass.

They sell transition flanges, but it will hurt the spool if the gaskets aren't matching.

i like how your thinking,i will definately look into those.

toofast82 -your right picking a turbo is a ROYAL pain in my un royal ass...LOL

1gDSM4g63-ive looked at these adapters but im still wanting to step up power wise, what are some pros and cons of the adapters?

4thStroke- it is well into the frustating part, but i enjoy peoples opinions and i want know what other people think would be interesting to run, i'm open to ALL!! suggestions

You popped your cherry post with this?? Really?

Anyways, to the OP, thank you. The only issue with HKS stuff is the price tag as its NOT cheap....and i cant stress NOT enough. You could go with a turbonetics gtk series unit in a twin scroll t4 setup, maybe even a greddy T series. All of the above are super turbos on other platforms and i rarely ever see them run on dsm/evo's most likely due to their cost.:p

Either way whatever you decide to go with, you'll probably be satisfied if you do the research :D

Your goals are not t4 hotside goals to be honest. You could get a t4 turbo that will easily make the power you want but spool with be sacraficed. I would have kept the t3 manifold and bought a stock hx40 with holset hotside.
