Dude! Incredible, I must say. I just went through the whole thread. I had no idea you were making such a monster, so damn cool.
Good luck man, kick some ass at RTA this year!:hellyeah::rocks:

Sweet! :D Don't paint it, your competition will underestimate you. ;)

Hmm. Looking at that chopped rear fascia makes me think you still have quite a few aero ideas up your sleeve. :D Do you have any wind tunnel time planned once the car is mostly sorted out?

Let us know how Infineon went!

I do have quite a few, the aero package is only 50% complete if that. There is a lot more to come!

Unfortunately there are no west coast reasonable price wind tunnels. I have a lot of other testing means though that can do 75% of what a wind tunnel does for you.

man this is my favorite pic by far

nice build man good luck this season

no if only i could compete on that level with my colt

That is the plan for next season. Nobody makes a hard top so its a custom job, along with everything else on the car. A hard top converted convertable is optimal. Lightweight roof, reinforced chassis.

Just get a hard top Drew...

Just get it, I'll put that on my to do list between lunch and erands ;) haha I think that is roughly a 2 mo job at the body shop to construct and a couple mos for me to design. I'd have to put everything else on hold as well and I'm swamped with just shaking the car down.

But honestly, I dont get why people are so hung up on that anyway like it some kind of death blow.. the drag penalty is minimal and the effect on aero is not that great. Once you've boxed in the roof with a cage you have a stronger chassis than a hard top car. An eclipse vert is a .32 drag Cd that the same as my supra but with less frontal area. There are some cars where the vert is awful but DSM is a 75lb weight penalty half of that is the motors the rest is strucural reinforcements (which I want anyway).

I could miss half the season to build a hard top and wait for the competition to get faster than I will be from a hard top (if at all) I can compete this year with a soft top and do a hard top over the off season.

Wow!! I've been on mission and haven't been able to check out the thread in a little bit. Looking awesome Andrew! Sorry to hear about your misfortunes, I was expecting you to go out n just wipe up! But without a little bit of pain the pleasure is not as enjoyable! Keep it up and don't let these small things knock you down!! It's looking AMAZING!

Wait wait wait.

You've been doing all this body work, tuning, prep, and whatnot, with no time to spare, and you took time out to order up some matching shirts? ;)

(Just kidding, those are actually pretty cool. :D)
