Sweet! :D Don't paint it, your competition will underestimate you. ;)

Hmm. Looking at that chopped rear fascia makes me think you still have quite a few aero ideas up your sleeve. :D Do you have any wind tunnel time planned once the car is mostly sorted out?

Let us know how Infineon went!

I just read through this entire thread and I am in awe at all of the work put into this, both physically and mentally. The car looks great even in primer!

How did everything go yesterday at the track?

I gotta say a big thanks to everyone, Matt, Nick and KBR Performance. Everyone put in hours and hard work yesterday. I gotta say thanks to these guys for taking time away from their families/friends/kids and coming out!

Dan came through with parts I was in desperate need of, clutch reservoir cap and a rear caliper + tools and turning wrenches.
Karlo (KBR) transported the car/tires, etc and turned wrenches track side.
Nick diagnosed electrical problems and reviewed motec logs for hours and hours.
Matt, Thanks for coming all the way out here away from your family just to test the car, much appreciated.

Everything at the track went pretty much as I expected it to. I had thought it was a reasonable possibility we would find some major problem and would not be able to run sunday and thats pretty much what happened. I need to retune the car this week, the grounding problem being fixed moved the whole map I'm amazed matt was able to drive the car at all to be honest. Also the power steering rack exploded I think the load of sticky 285 tires was just too much and the pressure got up high and burst the seals on the rack spraying fluid like crazy out of the driver side boot. I have a big to do list for the car before we'll start really getting fast. I'm chewing through the list now and working on budget/scheduling.

There were some really good things we found (with the caveat we were not pushing the car very hard):

the chassis design concept seems sound. The car was not exhibiting any severe understeer which is actually really good considering that some major problems we had in aligning the car should have made things terrible so the chassis balance seems to be good.

The cooling system is looking good. Water temps were around 88-89c most of the time.

Nothing was falling off the car, engine was solid and maintaining high RPMs for extended periods of time.

Crew getting some experience. We needed to work on the crew becoming cohesive and knowing a bit more about their jobs and what to do/when (myself included) so that was really good as well.

As an Engineer I gotta say thought that its tough to feel good about the victories when there are any even small failures that you didn't anticipate. It took us a bunch of time to sort out what the heck was going on with the car because the O2 sensor had died and we couldnt get any good data on what the problem might be. So we spent the better part of the day chasing what the hell was going on with that.

Right now my first priority is sleep!

any on track pics karlo?

hell yesss!
